Combating Financial Stress

A new Zogby International survey commissioned by TransUnion.ca found that 37 percent of Canadians surveyed felt 2010 was more financially stressful than 2009. To help combat that stress in 2011, nearly two out of three (64 percent) of Canadians said they plan to spend less/save more, pay down credit card debt or plan/adhere to a spending budget in this year. Additionally, five percent of those surveyed said they plan to get their credit in better standing.

After what many are calling a financially stressful year, it is no surprise that many consumers may have put aside their quest to tighten their belt and are setting out to tighten their wallets instead in 2011.

Tom Reid, Director of Consumer Solutions for TransUnion Canada provided tips for Zoomers for financial fitness in the new year.
